The playing card brainworm appeared to me after a few rounds of physical Solitaire. I'm saying physical because I actually learned digitally and realized I have a cute set of playing cards hanging around and collecting dust, so why not use them and apply what I've learned lol.
It's a kind of artwork where everything I've drawn here is deliberate and is laced with meaning. One of my more favorite symbolisms here is the shape of the inner border with the white circle, which, although not very obvious, still follow the eye motif of Spite. It's just literally shaped like an eye. I also love the aspects where I don't need to render something I'd just make into a silhouette and it's just a pop of color. I also loved the color palette I used here. I could go on and on about the piece, although I'm not in the mood to write Veilguard into a novel here nor go back to when I was a fine arts major typing down art analysis essays lol. I have a lot to say about it, but I think I am more fascinated with the way other people view my piece.

Right picture is my first win. Physical solitaire is very humbling lol it took losses before I reached a good win.

For those in the non-Dragon Age space, Spite is a spirit possessing Lucanis, and appears in a form of a purple version of the human. Although the possession isn't quite something he consented to, Lucanis learns to live with the spirit that, in many ways embody the virtue of spite. It's not an evil spirit...although I honestly the way I view Spite he's not much a threat to other people, probably only a threat to the person who possessed Lucanis, already taking away part of a person's agency (He honestly wasn't really that threating the entire game, my impression of that spirit's character and personality is that he's is really more a barking small dog / chaos gremlin inhabiting a human body), but to me more of a representation of Lucanis' identity and relational conflict. Spitecanis is a popular ship in the fandom. Not really a canon ship, but people do love shipping the both of them or three of them with the main character in a threesome, if said MC is romancing Lucanis. Spitecanis also is usually popular to those who like the concept of Monster Spite (spirits can take on other forms), and the more R-18 implications of that concept. I usually adore the more romantic depictions, but maybe one day I'll make a Monster Spite lol. The logomark I made on the card will suffice haha. Although, the non-romantic and more self-love implications seem to fascinate me more than the shipping aspect. I'd like to reference a couple of reblog tags I got:

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Profile picture art of my longest running DND campaign's monk, Chen Yuelin.

Made a very fast artwork of my 2-year old character! She's a human Monk who has recently deconstructed from her religion and separated from the god that's attached to her by the hip. A physical manifestation of her deconstruction involves a removal of her spiritual Third Eye that allows her communication with her god and gives her special powers. I wanted to add a horror angle by making her spiritual third eye physical and bleeding with holy energy. There's also a selfish god with multiple eyes, so I added that on the background. I was very inspired by eyes in horror games like Detention (返校)which showcased a lot of background moving eyes in a Buddhist hell setting, and Elden Ring's Shabriri Grape, which are actual gouged eyes of cult followers.

She's gone through a lot of physical changes depending on the development arcs she goes through. The last time I drew her was 2024?
One of her very old artworks from 2024:

Yuelin's character art from 2024. She used to be very religious.

My art style used to be very different 2 years ago, and they're very line-art based. I was slowly trying to understand how to render in general even while doing line-based art, and I was going through a slow transition away from this style. How I draw now in 2026 is now my ideal art style.

I wanna do a shortform video about this because I have a Tiktok, but that's a task for another day haha.

This is a new favorite. A new favorite out of ALL of my artworks. I love AUs that are a bit different and unexpected for my blorbos and those kinds of experiments tickle my soul. I love doing this Showgirl AU artwork I did to my favorite bi demi disaster assassin.

I found a pose for this one and thought, uh oh, time to add the 2nd artwork in my Glamcanis series. And here we birthed another baby. I've always wanted to present an aesthetic/sartorial side of Lucanis Dellamorte that's a bit more maximalist and queer.
This one is inspired by vintage performer backstages, Dita Von Teese, drag/burlesque aesthetics, and Adam Lambert (the guy that really started my hyperfixation for the Glamcanis AU). How can we ignore the crow feathers for the Antivan Crow.

A personal metric I have for an artwork is whether or not this is very close to a certain art style I'm aiming for, and I think this one passes the metric. I wanted to bump up the realism in the human form, as well as how the outfit details can seem it can look like something wearable in real life. For the corset details, I was debating whether or not to use a stock brush for the pearls, but it turns out rendering each pearl piece by piece makes the feel more realistic and makes more sense to the light and shadow. I'm glad I didn't take a shortcut for this one.

For my process, best I can provide is a reference board (Photoshop does not do timelapses I fear, and I don't wanna use OBS for this. I've recently downloaded a plugin, which in the future I'll use.). This helps for the painting style I wanna achieve, as well as the outfit and hair inspiration. I also needed this for rendering the scars, which I haven't done before.

Lucanis as First Talon and
Anastasia as the newly elected Governor of Treviso.

Only artwork for a fanweek, which is great, because at least I come up with artwork I feel happy about. So I only have this one. I've been told that Rook as a governor is something they've never considered, which is actually quite fun to know, since I know a lot of people with Crow Rooks considered being Fifth Talon. My Rook isn't a Crow Rook although she's Antivan. The Antivan Crows are fun to look at but not fun to be (not boring, just traumatic by default) but that's my personal very unpopular opinion hahaha. People who have heard of Anya in her Crow alternate universe knows that it's NOT fun for her.

I do have an extensive brainstorming list for Rookanis ideas, but I realized a lot of my drawings are things I thought of on a whim that a few of them are actually those I picked off my list. So many things to draw, and so little time.

I've been wanting to take a break from Rookanis art for a little while now. Taking a break doesn't mean stop, I know I'll make the next one eventually, but right now I'm focusing on art studies. I feel with the amount of time spent in the Rookanis fandom already, I feel I've done a lot already and want to go back to stuff like studying art. My story with my ship isn't done yet, but I feel I don't wanna sacrifice studies and other stuff for a long-standing hyperfixation haha.

Study on how Mam BA does metal.

Right now, I find more satisfaction doing studies. Right now, I've seen a lot of artists approach metal very well and I want to follow what they do by replicating it myself. I've been wanting to study how other painters do stuff for some time. I'm using Artstudio Pro for this. I've got recommended this app by a coworker and their pigment brushes are so good especially if you're looking for a more traditional painting feel. I'm just using one of their default brushes on this one.
